3rd Quarterly Report at National Grid Electricity Transmission

This report delves into two key themes: the first focusses on the evolving modelling capabilities within the energy sector for both power systems and whole system and the second explores efforts to accelerate customer connections to the network. More specifically, it examines the applications and purposes of EMT modelling across both the UK and Australia and whole system modelling tools such as PLEXOS, which is widely used for capacity expansion and market dispatch modelling. Finally, it summarises efforts, at both transmission and distribution levels, to manage the growing backlog of customer connections to the electricity grid.
